Does DevOps Need Agile?
I have always taken the position that Agile cannot survive without automated build, package and deployment or what we have come to refer to as DevOps. But DevOps itself works just fine in any software methodology (including waterfall). In a recent meeting in Berlin, I was tasked with the job of considering how DevOps could benefit from Agile principles and practices. No doubt that on a practical basis my work in DevOps almost always focuses on iterative development, grooming backlogs, user stories and embracing Agile principles and practices. But I would love to steal your ideas to do my homework. What do you feel are the real benefits of implementing DevOps in an agile context?
